Hi! I'm Nurse Chioma

I used to dream about what it would be like to become a nurse when I was a little girl. I was born in Nigeria but I grew up in the United States. As soon as I finished high school, I went straight to college to obtain my bachelor's of science degree in nursing.

MY STORY

I went through a number of challenges and struggles to become a nurse. First it took about 3 tries before I successfully got into the nursing program.

Then after finally getting in, I ended up failing medical surgical nursing and had to retake a semester. How embarrassing! Then about 5 1/2 years later, I got my degree. but it was still no walk in the park.

I got my first job at a big memorial hospital where I was forced to resign after 6 weeks of working because I couldn't handle the role. I must have cried every night. But somehow through the grace of God, I persevered and obtained better positions, raises, leadership positions, and more.
